Trip Guide News

The Equatorial Guinea national carrier, Ceiba Intercontinental has become a full member of the African Airlines Association having met the eligibility criteria and filed its documentation with the continental air transport body.

This was announced at the recently concluded 43rd AFRAA AGA in Marrakech, Morocco. As a member, Ceiba Intercontinental will now be able to participate in all the Association‟s projects, programmes and activities and benefit from consultancy, training and expert assistance provided by AFRAA.

Ceiba International
The little known airline from the oil rich Equitorial Guinea recently took delivery its new Boeing 777-200LR (reg 3C-LLS, serial 40668). The airline was founded recently as Equitorial Guinea invests to jump start its aviation industry with the oil boom. The airline also owns and operates two ATR42s and two ATR72s on domestic and west African regional services from Malabo and a single Airbus A300F freighter, wet-leased from MNG Airlines of Turkey, for international charter flights. The airline's website (currently under construction) refers to flights to Central America and, soon, to the Middle East.

The Association currently has an active membership of 32 airlines after it recently purged itself of airlines that were defaulting in their membership obligations or that had stopped operations.
