Dear kopral,
It's International Dark Sky Week, and we've got a round-up of the best ways to discover the night.
Our Rough Guide to Everywhere podcast episode takes you to Green Bank in West Virginia. Not only is it a communications black hole (digital detox, anyone?) but thanks to low light pollution levels, it's a top stargazing site – find out more about this intriguing spot here.
Once the sun has set, it's time to perfect your night photography skills, which doesn't have to be as difficult as it's notoriously known for. Watch for the changing colour of the sky, or try your hand (well, camera shutter) at capturing the Milky Way.
Finally, prepare to be mesmerised by these incredible photographs of everyone's favourite patch of sky: the Northern Lights. Otherwise known as the Aurora Borealis, the magestic greens, blues and purples that dance across the sky is an unrivalled natural wonder of the world. Remember to tag us in your Instagram posts of the night sky – just include #RGNightSky for the chance to be featured on our feed.
However you choose to celebrate International Dark Sky Week, we hope you have fun!
