It's July, and just like the temps, the DEKA action is heating up. We are now officially two-and-a-half months away from the 2024 DEKA World Championships qualfiication cut-off date. If you're looking to lock in an invite to the big show, now is the time to get your best DEKA Mark on the Global Leaderboard.

Summer is also the time to LEVEL UP, and we have all sorts of ways you can do that in the DEKA arena. So if you've been on the fence about stepping from DEKA STRONG and MILE to DEKA FIT or completing a DEKA event wearing a ruck, now is the time to hop down and jump into action.

Your next challenge and new PRs await.
DEKA FIT ULTRA WORLD CUP IS ALMOST HERE
The first-ever DEKA FIT Ultra World Cup is coming to DEKA FIT Midwest Weekend in just a few weeks.

The DEKA FIT Ultra World Cup is a "fitness ultra" where you will complete the DEKA FIT course five times, totaling 25K of running and 50 zones. What makes this event unique, particularly in the ultra world, is that it is truly designed for ALL fitness levels. If you can simply keep moving, you have a high likelihood of reaching the finish line and earning the first-ever DEKA FIT Ultra buckle.

Yes, that's right. This event will have a finisher's buckle.

Elite heats available for those looking to push at the highest level with a tight time cap. Age Group heats are for anyone who wants to put themselves to the test, try something new, and discover what's possible when you put mind over matter. With a 10-hour time cap, you have plenty of time to put one foot in front of the other until you cross the finish line and earn that buckle.

There will only be ONE first-ever DEKA FIT Ultra. Sign up now and be able to say you were there and earned that inaugural DEKA FIT Ultra buckle.
This summer, we are challenging you to LEVEL UP your DEKA experience.

How can you achieve this? Here are five ways you can LEVEL UP:

1. If you have completed a DEKA STRONG, LEVEL UP to a DEKA MILE. Even better, add on a DEKA FIT and complete your DEKA Trifecta.

2. Add a second heat to your day in the DEKA Arena. Complete an individual DEKA STRONG, DEKA MILE, or DEKA FIT race in the morning, and then grab a buddy and add a DEKA Teams race later that day.

3. Throw on a weighted pack and complete a DEKA STRONG, DEKA MILE, or DEKA FIT Ruck event. The DEKA Zones get extra spicy when wearing a 20lb ruck (women) or 30lb ruck (men), but it's all worth it when you earn the exclusive DEKA Ruck patch from Titan 6 Actual.

4. Ready for a three-a-day? Complete a DEKA STRONG, DEKA MILE, or DEKA FIT individual, team, and ruck race in one day.

5. Take the ultimate LEVEL UP challenge and sign up for the DEKA FIT Ultra World Cup and conquer the DEKA FIT arena five times in one day.

Whether you choose one or all five, get yourself to a DEKA event this summer and discover what you are capable of achieving inside the DEKA Arena.
This month we turn our attention to Zone 6 - 100 Meter Farmer Carry. With dumbbells as heavy as 60lbs per hand, this zone can be an absolute grip killer. But with the right training, it can also be one of the quickest zones to complete throughout the entire DEKA Arena.

In order to give you the best possible tips to Own the Zone for Zone 6, we went to one of the speediest people to ever step inside of this zone - Oscar Moreno from DEKA Affiliate Frag Out Fitness. Here are Oscar's tips to help you "Move Like Moreno" in Zone 6.

Grip strength and strong posture is instrumental when completing Zone 6. Some strength exercises that help develop muscles to support this are: Shoulder presses, Shoulder shrugs, face pulls and reverse grip bicep curls.

Smooth and efficient movements are contributors to the speedy completion of Zone 6. Some tips that may help with your next DEKA Zone 6 are:

1. Have a firm centered pistol grip over the dumbbell bar, avoiding weight being distrusted to far back or to far forward causing fatigue to your wrist and forearm.

2. Maintain a tall posture with shoulders rolled back to maximize air capacity moving through the Zone.

3. Approach each turn slightly wide and using the counter balance of the weight to get you around the turn close and efficiently. Think "Nascar".
