John, the Cat and Her Ordeal John, a female British black cat with an unconventional name, was discovered with her head poking out of one end of a drainpipe on Nov. 23. Unable to free herself, the Clevedon Fire Brigade was called to the scene, responding to what they described as a unique challenge.
Firefighters assessed the scene and cut out a section of the pipe with John still in it. She was then rushed to the vet team for the safe removal of the remaining pipe from around her neck. After some precise pipe work, John emerged unharmed and ready to receive cuddles.
Clevedon Fire Brigade's Facebook post about the incident sparked amusement and affection online, particularly due to the cat's name. The firefighters acknowledged the curiosity, stating, "John (Yes John) the cat had got herself (Yes John is a girl, it's a long story) stuck in a garage drainpipe."
