and 10 best road trips in the UK and Ireland or read all about the Chocal Chocolate Factory, which really is changing lives with chocolate.
Dear kopral,
This week we hear from in-house travel editor Zara Sekhavati, who chronicles her first holiday post Covid-19. Making for the epic Dorset seascapes of the Jurassic Coast, her trip to Durdle Door is a great reminder that staycations can be every bit as magical as long-haul travel. On that note, we've been working to create a list of the 10 best road trips in the UK and Ireland. Safe and sociable, travelling by motor is the perfect way to explore our island home; rent an electric car to make sure your trip is a green one.
As part of our Tell Us Your Story campaign, we also head over to the Dominican Republic, where a women's cooperative is helping create employment and empowerment through one of the country's key exports: chocolate. Read all about the Chocal Chocolate Factory, which really is changing lives with chocolate.
Have fun,
Helen

Exploring the UK and Ireland by road is a fantastic way to go: it's sociable, safe and – if you choose an electric vehicle – environmentally friendly. We've put together a list of the 10 best road trips in the UK and Ireland, all bookable with a local expert through Rough Guides. The good news? Our local experts are offering a free activity, from whisky tasting to riding in a London red bus, with each booking until 31 August 2020.
The Dominican Republic is acclaimed for its breathtaking beaches and warm waters. But there's a whole lot more to this Caribbean nation besides sun, sand and sea. The Dominican Republic is also a hotspot for uplifting cultural adventures. For example, the tasty tourist experience offered by Chocal Chocolate Factory. We were delighted to hear from this female-owned, female-operated collective in response to our 'tell us your story' initiative.
