The Prodigy: Monsoon Tactical x FD Custom Exclusive

The announcement of the Springfield Prodigy nearly broke the internet late 2022…. In the best way possible. It brought to market a much-needed 2011-style firearm with a more affordable price point.

But, like most factory-direct drops, once these bad boys got into the hands of actual shooters, there were a handful of much-desired improvements to the platform.

Partnering up with Monsoon Tactical, The Depot took the already-epic Prodigy and implemented upgrades to give the higher price-point 2011-style firearms a run for their money. Starting with the slide stop and fire control, Monsoon utilized parts from Evolution Gun Works. No longer metal injection molded, the fire control was fitted with top-tier billet machined parts to guarantee first-class performance. Plus, these tweaks reduced the trigger pull from 5.5 LBS all the way down to 3.5 LBS, with a crisp and tight trigger breaking point.

Additionally, Monsoon Tactical performed their Genghis Comp slide/barrel work and revamped the slide-to-frame fitment to ensure a smoother and flatter shoot.
