Shooter, with Springfield's newly launched Echelon pistol, you may be asking yourself, "is this just another 9mm?" and the answer is "no"... here's why: The Echelon has several innovations, but most notably: A Central Operating Group (COG) setup for frame modularity and a Variable Interface System (VIS) for Optics. COG: The Echelon line is slated to come in three frame size options: compact, mid-size, and large or full-size. Currently, the Echelon ships with the COG in a mid-size frame. In the future, you will be able to buy a compact or full-size frame and easily swap the COG from one frame size to the other. VIS: The Variable Interface System, which allows users to mount over 30 optic types directly to the slide without the use of adapter plates. The system is configured through the placement of patent-pending self-locking pins, which can adapt to the footprint of most popular optics. Psssst.... | | | | | | And by the way... even though the Echelon doesn't say "grip zone" like Springfield's XD line, we promise you'll know how to hold it... and it will fit your grip LIKE A GLOVE. 😉 | | | | |
