Our editor, Ties, fell in love with Vietnam on a backpacking trip in his 20s. A decade or so later, Vietnam has entinced him back – this time with his wife and 3-year-old son in tow as the family embark on a 6-month adventure. Read Ties's Vietnam postcard here!
Travelling in Vietnam is like your first 10 seconds in Hanoi: chaotic, authentic and fun! Due to its geographical shape, travelling can be a challenge, but when you find those magical hidden places, it's like seeing the world as a kid again.
I'm writing this from Ninh Binh. The nature here is dazzlingly beautiful, and the tranquility is a welcome surprise after Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City. We spend our days climbing viewpoints, sailing past limestone rocks, or visiting ancient temples. It can all be done here in one day.
Vietnam is one of my favourite places and I love watching my son's eyes light up as he discovers it!
