CNN's Dana Bash asked Harris about recent shifts in policy after she supported initiatives like Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, and a ban on fracking during her 2019 presidential campaign. "Let's be clear, my values have not changed," Harris said. "I made that clear on the debate stage in 2020 that I would not ban fracking. As vice president, I did not ban fracking. As president, I will not ban fracking." The interview also clarified questions about her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, including erroneous statements on his military record and fertility treatments used to conceive his daughter, Hope. Could something as common as table salt be the key to advancing cancer treatment? Recent research offers a surprising and promising role for table salt in enhancing the immune system's ability to fight cancer, researchers say. Two new studies, published on Aug. 28 in Nature Immunology, reveal that increased salt levels can significantly enhance immune cells' cancer-killing abilities. One of the two studies also showed that mice who consumed a high-salt diet also had reduced tumor sizes as a result. While research suggests a salt-based approach could become a valuable tool for enhancing cancer treatments, the researchers said in a press statement that they don't recommend eating more salt in humans to activate the immune response against cancer.
