This one-day event will feature Elite, Age Group, 2-Person Team, and Ruck heats as competitors come out to earn their DEKA FIT Trifecta wedge, go for that next PR, and possibly punch their ticket to DEKA FIT World Championships in Ocala, Florida on December 13th.

Whatever name you have for it, there's no way of getting around Zone 7 - the 25 Calorie Air Bike.
This is where things start getting REAL in a DEKA event. This is where things could start breaking down for your race. Or, if you're like Kevin Gregory, this is where the magic really starts happening. Perhaps you've seen video of him crushing the air bike in twelve seconds? It sounds unreal but he can do it.
That's why we went to the current DEKA STRONG World Champion and owner of DEKA Affiliate Underdog Fitness for his pro-tips on how to turn your frown upside down when you step into Zone 7:
1. Spend more time on the bike, period. But not always at max effort.
2. When you sprint on it, slow down before you blow up.
3. Practice doing bike intervals compromised. For example, do a set of lunges then hop on. Because that's what it will really be like at the event.
Above all, train for it. Build lots of leg endurance with tons of weighted lunges. Practice foot speed by doing high RPM on a spin bike at various resistance levels.
