What really strikes me about Switzerland is how you can experience many different worlds within one country — each region offers something unique to explore.
You could start your morning with crispy rösti in Zürich, have lunch in the Mediterranean-style piazzas of Lugano, and end your day with dinner at a cosy French bistro in Geneva — all connected by what might be the world's most scenic rail network.
To top it off, each region has its own special cheese (though I have to admit, I'm partial to a good Gruyère).
