WORDS OF WISDOM | "There's a land that is fairer than day, and by faith we can see it afar." | SANFORD FILLMORE BENNETT | | Good morning! Today we're covering the overwhelming support for voter ID, the government failure to deter CCP infiltration, and the crisis among American boys. | TOP NEWS | | Yes on Photo ID The vast majority of American adults are in favor of requiring photo identification to cast a ballot and proof of citizenship when registering to vote.
The poll, released on Oct. 24, found that 84 percent of American adults support voter ID measures, marking an increase from the 80 percent who expressed support for the measure ahead of the 2016 election, and the 79 percent who backed it during the 2022 midterm elections.
Additionally, 83 percent of respondents in the latest poll said they support requiring proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote for the first time. This year's poll marks Gallup's first attempt to measure public opinion on the citizenship requirement for voter registration, a particularly contentious issue in the current election cycle where illegal immigration has become a more prominent concern for voters. Citing examples in some agencies, the report said the government has relied on China to buy U.S. Treasury bills, failed to adequately monitor the CCP's takeover of American farmland near U.S. military bases, failed to inform and educate Americans of the risks associated with Chinese products, and is not studying, addressing, or warning the public about the CCP's "elite capture" strategy targeting state and local governments and business leaders. There's a crisis among boys, and the biggest driver is the rise in single-parent families without a father, says Warren Farrell, co-author of "The Boy Crisis: Why Our Boys Are Struggling and What We Can Do About It." The number of fatherless homes has sharply risen in the last century.
Compared to girls, boys have been shown to suffer significantly more without a father figure in their lives, Farrell says in an interview with our colleague Jan Jekielek on American Thought Leaders. In particular, boys who grow up without fathers often do not learn delayed gratification—the single biggest predictor of success in life.
